Grief and coping

Posted on Posted in Advice, Grief

Grief is inevitable in life! We will all lose someone we love at some point in our lives. As a standard we generally flow through stages in that process. We find ourselves feeling surreal about the situation and in denial. We ask ourselves, “How could this happen.” Second, we get angry and ask ourselves, “Why did this happen to me.” Next we may bargain and say “I will do anything to make this go away.” It is possible at this point we could get depressed or just have an incredibly low mood. We may not feel like being with people and may isolate and withdraw. Finally, at the end of the cycle we come to the understanding that this has happened and we cannot change it. When we get here we can accept the loss and cope.
I lost my brother two days ago. He will be missed and I will continue! Love you Darrell!
